Student Athlete Advisory Committee
What is SAAC? SAAC is a way for Student Athletes to have a voice in the NCAA through advisory committees at the campus, conference, and national levels. As a member of SAAC, I represent the ODU Swim and Dive team and am a liaison for my team. I am in charge of bringing whatever needs my team has to the table at SAAC meetings. Within SAAC, I am on the Golden Monarchs Award Ceremony planning committee, collaborating with other teams' representatives to plan the culminating celebration to honor all Student-Athletes at the end of all sports seasons in the Spring.

Biking/Running
When I am not swimming, I enjoy biking and running! I have recently gained a new love for triathlons through competing in ODU's annual mini triathlon. One day hope to complete a full triathlon. I also love to go on adventures on my bike. One of my favorite rides I've been on is through downtown Norfolk. In high school, I was on the cross country team my freshman year and one of my biggest accomplishments was winning the county junior varsity race!
It is always the perfect weather for biking in the ODU Triathlon.
This is a stop on my bike ride into Downtown Norfolk. Next time maybe I will eat at this cool restaurant!
Running into the final steps of the ODU Triathlon is one of the best feelings! Such a great accomplishment to be able to have!
Art
I have always had a creative side. In high school I developed a passion for ceramics and 3-D art. Here are some of my creations! I still continue to utilize my creative side in other ways such as developing marketing ads, social media content for ODU, workout boards, etc., which are on the projects page of this website.
This bowl is made out of clay and covered with a specialty glaze.
This project was made out of styrofoam balls and thumbtacks to give it a "scaly" look. I used fishing ling to hang the balls so that they appeared to be floating.
This is a sculpture made out of clay. I used a metal pole the stick through the center of the piece enabling it to stand. The piece is supposed to look like a mummy unraveling in the wind.
Concentration Pieces: In AP 3-D Design, the class was structured around a concentration idea of your choice. I decided to plaster all of my seven pieces. Below are just a few of my concentration pieces. They are based on cardboard and then covered in plaster. The middle piece, however uses real flowers.
To the left is the beginning of a glass creation. It turned into a decorative glass plate. On the right is the first bowl I created on the wheel. Using the wheel to make a bowl allows for symmetry and quick production.
One of our group projects in ceramics was to create a totem pole for the local metro station to display on the walkway by the entrance of the station. It was a competition between five of the local high schools on which ones would be chosen to execute the design. My group worked hard to come up with a theme and logical structural plan that would best suit the Strathmore metro station. This is our finished product of the selected tropical totem pole!
While enjoying a relaxing time at the beach, what a great opportunity to sculpt in the endless sand! I love creating different sculptures/designs in the sand!
These are all of the universities my family members have attended.
Photography
This year I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to capture the best moments of ODU sports by working with the social media team to create content to post on social media. I have also created many videos out of my own personal pictures, which makes for a great way to view all of the memories I've created!
Sports Marketing Photography
While working with the ODU Athletics Sports Marketing Team, I have been able to work at sporting events and capture the best moments to post on ODU's Instagram account!
Hiking
I love the outdoors! Anytime I have the chance and it is nice outside, I like to try to take the time to enjoy it. Hiking allows me to be active and experience an amazing view from vantage points like no other!
